In Episode 2 of Lead the Future, Dr. Vince Molinaro spoke with Gina Bianchini, CEO of Mighty Networks. In their conversation, Gina shares her perspective on the role of community in our increasingly divided world.
A community lets everybody belong to something bigger than themselves and to have a bigger common goal where it’s very clear that they couldn’t achieve it on our own. There’s this myth of a person going to the mountaintop, being struck by lightning and getting a great idea, but that’s not how great innovation and solutions actually happen.
– Gina Bianchini
She also talks about her strategy for maintaining the clarity she needs to stay resilient, be a source of strength for her team, and help everyone build comfort with uncertainty, chaos, and rapid change. They discuss strategies for keeping focused on top priorities, the role of vulnerability in growth, and insights learned during the COVID-19 pandemic.
There’s a place for grief, there’s a place for fear, there’s a place for uncertainty but if we don’t figure out the way forward… then what are we doing? The world is defined by people who say, “no, this is what we want the world to be” not by people who lean back and say “well, I guess that was a good run.” That’s not leadership!
